World Trademark Review has recently published an article by the Senior Advisor of Villaseca Abogados, Sergio Amenábar, and the partner Felipe Pavez, titled: “Talcahuano Customs makes historic seizure of counterfeit pills”.

The article begins: “While the world is facing the covid-19 pandemic, IP crimes have not stopped – even with much of the population in quarantine. On 12 March 2020 customs agents in Talcahuano found a significant amount of counterfeit fat burners within the context of strict controls on health products due to the current pandemic. This is the biggest seizure ever carried out in the history of Talcahuano Customs for this kind of product, amounting to over 1.1 million counterfeit fat burner pills. The pills bore a trademark that originates from the United States and is duly registered in Chile”.
