Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana (UTEM) recently filed a new patent application at Instituto Nacional de Propiedad Industrial (INAPI), which it aims to produce environmental friendly materials. A team of Villaseca Abogados, led by partner Loreto Vera, along with Carolina Muñoz and Francisco Valverde and the additional support of the partner Álvaro Arévalo (in charge of Copyright Area), has advised this educational institution on the IP strategy to protect innovation assets of UTEM.
The patent application, entitled “Cross-linked and recyclable nanocomposites comprising electrically conductive carbon materials and polymers capable of dispersing and stabilizing them, method of obtaining, derivative materials comprising them, and uses as thermosetting, heat-reversible, thermo-adhesive, thermoconductive matrix or additives, among others”, arose from the need to design and produce multifunctional materials based on environmental friendly plastics.
This is the second patent application of Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana filed at INAPI. For both cases, they have had the collaboration of Villaseca Abogados.
