Carol Schmeisser C.

Attorney from the University of Chile. Before joining Villaseca Abogados, she worked as an associate in the competition law area of the firm Cariola Diez Pérez-Cotapos, as a research assistant for the international magazine ArbJournal, and as an attorney for the National Economic Prosecutor's Office (FNE). María José Morales

Studies University.She is a scientist, specialized in industrial property strategies in the field of life sciences with experience in advising clients to give patent protection to their inventions. Before joining Villaseca Abogadosas a professional, she worked as a Market Assessment Manager at NEOS Technology Management Consulting, as a Patent Agent in the Biotech field at JarryIP and as a Trilingual Executive Assistant at KOLM Electronics.

She is part of the Patent Area at Villaseca Abogados.

Juan Cristóbal Guzmán

Lawyer from the Pontificia Católica Universidad de Chile. Graduate of the Master’s degree in Industrial Property and New Technologies, as well as a Postgraduate degree in Computer Law from the Universidad de Chile.

He served as the President of the Industrial Property Court in 2018 and 2021, and as a Full Minister of the same court from 2012 to 2023. He has extensive experience in advising and litigating cases related to trademarks, patents, and copyright.

His professional work has focused on the selection of company and product names, brand and patent development and strategies, as well as formulating strategic approaches for licensing and enforcement of intellectual property rights. From 1992 to 2004, he worked as an associate and litigator at the Federico Villaseca y Cia law firm, where he specialized in drafting, negotiating, and securing license agreements for various corporations.

Juan Cristóbal is a member of the Chilean Bar Association.
