Juan Cristóbal Guzmán
Lawyer from the Pontificia Católica Universidad de Chile. Graduate of the Master’s degree in Industrial Property and New Technologies, as well as a Postgraduate degree in Computer Law from the Universidad de Chile.
He served as the President of the Industrial Property Court in 2018 and 2021, and as a Full Minister of the same court from 2012 to 2023. He has extensive experience in advising and litigating cases related to trademarks, patents, and copyright.
His professional work has focused on the selection of company and product names, brand and patent development and strategies, as well as formulating strategic approaches for licensing and enforcement of intellectual property rights. From 1992 to 2004, he worked as an associate and litigator at the Federico Villaseca y Cia law firm, where he specialized in drafting, negotiating, and securing license agreements for various corporations.
Juan Cristóbal is a member of the Chilean Bar Association.
